Amy Velasquez leads the Creative Design team within K12’s Teaching and Learning organization, bringing over 15 years of multidisciplinary design experience. She combines a strong sense of visual innovation with practical functionality to guide the development of high impact, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active through Peloton workouts as well as reading and walking her beloved dog, Pixie.

As the senior director of academics and learning development, Deanna manages specialized teams across multiple subjects, while overseeing strategy, vendor relations, curriculum approvals, and a comprehensive skills tree for standards tracking and compliance.

Janae is currently a learning development analyst at Stride K12. She is certified in K–12 administration and has been in virtual education since 2015 in various teaching, CTE, training, and leadership roles. Janae is passionate about building effective learning paths that support the growth of educators and leaders. She is the world’s "okayest" ranch wife and mom to three kids, where they are cattle ranchers in the least-populated county in the least-populated state.

Natalee has her Early Childhood Education degree with Special Education P–12 and Special Education content 6–8. She has been in the virtual education world for 10 years. Natalee spent most of her time in the Special Education world which is where her passion lies. She enjoys having the opportunity to make education not only available for all students but finding a way for all students to be able to enjoy their education.

Janae is currently a learning development analyst at Stride K12. Megan Eggemeier is the AI learning specialist at K12. Prior to joining the K12 team, she had over 10 years of experience as an elementary teacher, reading tutor, and outreach coordinator for a brick-and-mortar school. She is passionate about helping teachers incorporate AI into their practices. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and she has recently begun to try her hand at pottery and ceramics.

Rachel Goodwin currently leads the Talent Development team at K12, bringing over 20 years of diverse experience both in and out of the classroom. Her extensive background equips her to effectively connect with educators and school leaders, fostering their professional growth. Rachel is passionate about designing impactful, engaging, and relevant training and professional development experiences for teachers and administrators.

Casey is a seasoned educator with 17 years of experience, including 12 years with Stride. She holds a BS in Elementary Education, two MEd degrees in Curriculum & Instruction and Leadership, and an Ed.S in Curriculum & Instruction Leadership. Her roles have included middle school English teacher, instructional coach, PBL specialist, leader trainer, and portfolio academic administrator.  Casey is passionate about inspiring others to excel in online education.

David is a curriculum director at K12, supporting the wide variety of professionals who design and maintain our curriculum. After starting out as a teacher and then a school administrator, he transitioned into work as a curriculum specialist and instructional designer. He has been with K12 for 17 years. He lives in Oregon, and when not working, he enjoys baking, home improvement projects, and exploring the Northwest with his wife and dog.

Will Plump is the manager of the Learning Innovation team at Stride. As a former special education teacher, he has a passion for finding new ways to reach and engage students of all ages!

Amy Eward is senior manager of game-based learning at K12. She’s been with the company for over 16 years, during which time she’s lent her voice and vision to products ranging from decodable readers to forensic science case studies to MathBee. Amy holds an MA in Writing from Johns Hopkins and a BS in Secondary Education from Penn State. She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, two children, and two backyard chickens.

As a curriculum manager, Lindsay leads a team in developing learning objects, including simulations, videos, 3-D models, and more.

Katy is a learning and development manager for Stride. She began her career teaching science and transitioned into various leadership roles as a science subject matter expert and manager with Stride, eventually turning her focus to adult learning and development. Katy is passionate about ensuring quality training and professional development to support all educators in their mission to provide the best learning experience for students. She currently lives in the Seattle area with her family.

Heather currently serves as the production manager for Stride's Teaching & Learning team. After teaching K–12 students in public, private, and online classroom settings, she earned her PhD in 2015 and refocused her professional interests on adult learning. She is passionate about promoting people-centric leadership that celebrates common ground and the shared human experience. Heather lives in Kentucky with her husband and four children.

Kristy Engel is a dedicated education leader with over 20 years of experience in both online and traditional classrooms. For the past 13 years at Stride, she has held roles ranging from teacher to instructional coach and now serves as Senior Manager of Curriculum Compliance, ensuring curriculum quality and alignment across schools. With a background in teaching subjects like science, health, and AP Psychology, Kristy is known for her student and educator first mindset, strategic thinking, and commitment to service. She excels at building strong relationships, supporting new teachers, and fostering high-performing teams. Based in East Lansing, MI, Kristy holds degrees from Alma College and the University of Michigan and enjoys running, family time, and Michigan’s outdoors—especially cheering on her favorite teams.

She began her career as a high school math teacher after which she transitioned to developing math curriculum in roles as a writer and a curriculum specialist. Megan is passionate about creating learning opportunities for all students to become mathematically literate. She is an avid reader and loves to travel with her kids.

Jandee is currently a curriculum architect for Stride, assisting with building science content for grades K–5. She began her career teaching in the traditional classroom setting, and after 10 years, she transitioned into serving students by creating engaging curriculum for all. Jandee loves encouraging students of all ages to keep learning and finds joy in the great outdoors, from the sand dunes to the mountains, she is up for exploring! She currently lives in the heart of the Flint Hills of Kansas with her husband.

Adam is a curriculum architect for Stride. He began his career teaching in the brick-and-mortar setting for 10 years before transitioning to work as an assessment and research specialist. Adam is passionate about all aspects of education for students and, besides teaching history, has also been a high school soccer coach and assistant director in theater.

As curriculum production manager, MaryLynne Fillmon oversees the development of K12’s social studies content. She began her career teaching in the brick-and-mortar setting, developing curriculum and assessments as a freelancer, and transitioning into curriculum development at Stride in 2016. MaryLynne is passionate about designing engaging, inclusive curriculum that supports all learners and enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

Mary is currently a STEM curriculum architect. She began her career in the high school math classroom teaching in public and private settings for both in-person and virtual schools. Mary spent the next 16 years teaching all levels of high school mathematics from Algebra 1 through AP® Calculus while also working on curriculum design. She spent many years coaching educators on technology implementation, implementing the flipped model, and classroom best practices. She even took her expertise to present in conferences. Outside of the classroom, Mary spends her free time weightlifting, biking, kayaking, running, and both teaching riding lessons and training horses. She also loves to cook and tend to her large freshwater tropical fish tank! She currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her four cats.

Jaime began her career in hands-on science education, designing inquiry-based curricula that brought ecosystems to life—often with muddy boots and waterlogged data sheets. Now serving as CRE content manager at K12, she bridges experiential learning with digital innovation. Jaime focuses on instructional design that strategically leverages technology to enhance student engagement and achievement in career education

Meghan holds a master's degree in education and is recognized as a subject matter expert in literacy. She is committed to enhancing literacy instruction for everyone. With her background in teaching and course design, Meghan is able to create innovative solutions to improve the Stride K12 curriculum based on evidence-based practices.

Tim Mansfield is a writer, editor, and ELA subject matter expert who has worked at K12/Stride since 2002 and helped plan and create these courses.

Danielle is currently a manager of curriculum production. She began her career teaching in the brick-and-mortar setting, and over the past 15 years, she helped to develop many courses such as K–12 World Language , K–5 ELA, 6–8 Health courses, and various others. Danielle is passionate about helping all students learn in a digital world and enjoys spending time with her family and pets. She currently lives in Delaware.

Fernanda Zamora is currently a Bilingual Curriculum Architect at Stride. She immigrated to the U.S. from Santiago, Chile at a young age and grew up in a Spanish-speaking, culturally-Chilean home. Her passion for her language and culture led her to pursue a career in education, where she taught Spanish as a Foreign Language and Spanish as a Heritage Language at the high school level. At Stride, she continues creating curriculum that affirms identity, celebrates bilingualism, and builds literacy in Spanish. By helping develop the Kindergarten Spanish Language Arts and Phonics courses, she has expanded her impact from a single classroom to thousands of students nationwide. For that, she feels deeply grateful. When Fernanda isn't creating educational content, she is likely traveling, doing yoga, or hanging out with her fiancé, Alex, and their cat-daughter, Coco.

Tamera "Tammy" Davis is a subject matter expert on the Stride Math Curriculum team, specializing in middle and high school state customizations. Tammy is a computer engineer who holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and has a passion for mathematics. She worked at a Fortune 500 company as a software engineer for close to 15 years and tutored math privately for over 20 years before coming to Stride. Her motto is “Math simplified.” She strives to make learning math a fun and positive experience for everyone!

As general manager of K12 Tutoring, Jennifer Moore leads strategy and operations for the only online tutoring platform that requires every tutor to be an active, state-certified teacher, giving students access to hundreds of educators no matter what school they attend or where they live. Jennifer brings to K12 Tutoring extensive experience leading strategy and product development for large portfolios in the education sector. Prior to joining K12, Jennifer spent 13 years at Kaplan Test Prep in roles ranging from curriculum development to technology product management to general management of Kaplan's pre-medical programs.

Tricia Guerrero is an academic analytics researcher at K12 Tutoring, where she leads all efficacy research to highlight the positive impact of K12 Tutoring services on student learning. She earned her PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago, with expertise in instructional interventions that strengthen reading comprehension. With over a decade of experience as a high school teacher as well, she brings both practical classroom knowledge and research expertise to promoting student success.

As K12 Zone/K12 chat product owner, Susan spearheads the development of secure and interactive platforms where students can learn, connect, explore, and have fun in a safe environment, prioritizing the importance of socialization in their educational experience. She leads the evolution of School Zones for local student communities, National Zones for cross-school interaction and events, and Teacher Zones that provide engaging, educator-led learning spaces—creating a dynamic ecosystem that supports meaningful student participation at every level.

Dwight Ashley, Sr. has 30+ years in education leadership, currently Executive in Residence at Stride K12. He grew Indiana Gateway Digital Academy from 1,500 to over 6,000 students and led the creation of Indiana Gateway Alternative School. Dwight chaired the consolidation of two high schools into Parke Heritage High School, now a top-ranked early college school. He helped develop Indiana’s postsecondary credentialing plan and co-founded Indiana’s first special needs charter school. Dwight holds degrees from Spring Arbor, Wayne State, and IUPUI and was Parke County Chamber Person of the Year in 2020.

As Program Manager of Student Communities, Nick leads the strategic direction and implementation of student engagement across Stride’s K12 Zones—immersive virtual campuses where students from across the country can connect, create, and thrive. He supports over 60 school-based Points of Contact (POCs), equipping local leaders with the tools and inspiration to foster vibrant, inclusive communities. Nick also oversees high school intern teams who design digital assets, scenes, and events that bring the K12 Zone to life. From coordinating monthly campaigns to curating student-led programs and themed national events, he cultivates an ever-evolving virtual experience that centers student voice, creativity, and belonging.

Jessica is currently a learning development specialist on the Professional Development team. She previously taught English at both the high school and middle school levels in brick-and-mortar and online settings and served as middle school lead and high school lead master teacher. Jessica is passionate about education equity and access, is dedicated to empowering teachers to continue to grow in their practice, and fuels up on desert walks and good books. She currently lives in Tucson, AZ with her husband, two boys, and their labradoodle, Leo.

Driven by her desire to see all students succeed, she takes pride in providing educators with the best possible instructional support and coaching. As the manager of Stride’s professional development and training platform, she strives to provide solution-oriented professional development that is personalized, engaging, and sparks inspiration in all participants. Monet holds an MEd in Secondary  Education from the University of Phoenix and a National Board Teaching Certification. She is currently completing her Ed.S in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Virginia. Monet currently resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with her husband and son.

Joy Yang is the senior product manager with Stride. She has over a decade of experience working on various products, from mobile gaming to Saas products. Moving into EdTech has been a great way to combine gamification with education. On the side, Joy enjoys throwing pottery.

Stephanie Schick is a Curriculum Specialist on the Innovation Team at Stride, where she brings over a decade of experience in education. She has taught in both traditional classrooms and online environments, and her passion lies in designing meaningful, engaging curriculum that meets the evolving needs of students and educators alike. Stephanie loves spending time with her husband, two kids, and two dogs. A big Disney fan, she travels to Walt Disney World with her family at least once every year!

Kristen is currently a curriculum and instructional specialist for Stride's Teaching and Learning Team. She began teaching math and science in a brick-and-mortar setting for 6 years before transitioning to one of K12's virtual schools in 2013. There, she taught math and was the math department head for 5 years. After leaving the classroom in 2018, she worked as an instructional coach and teacher trainer for 4 years until transitioning to her current role in February of 2023. Kristen is passionate about working with teachers to support them in any way possible. When not focused on work, she enjoys time with her family and nephews. During the summer, you'll find her in the garden!

Iman Alattar is a Learning Development Manager with Stride’s Talent Development team. Since joining Stride in 2017, she’s focused on creating transformative educational experiences for students, teachers, and leaders. Iman is passionate about elevating learning through vibrant and authentic real-world applications.

Andrea Tuckness is a School Programs Manager at Stride and co-chair of the Women Empowering Women Employee Resource Group, with extensive experience in professional development, community outreach, and continuing education across diverse K-12 and higher education settings. She holds a Master’s in Applied Anthropology of Education and is passionate about fostering inclusive spaces that empower collaboration and inspire lifelong learning.

As the product owner of K12 Skills Arcade, Nicolette works closely with developers and stakeholders to enhance the student and teacher experience for the gamification skill practice platform.
